Dominique Jones, age 28, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 2, by the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force in connection with a shooting in February, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management.
The shooting occurred on the city's west side near the intersection of Maplewood Avenue and Howard Avenue, Appleby said.
Nearby surveillance cameras captured Jones running to a nearby car and driving away. Police were later able to connect Jones to the vehicle and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Jones is a convicted felon who has been previously charged and convicted on separate firearm-related charges.
He was charged with
- Conspiracy to commit assault
- Illegal discharge of a firearm
- Reckless endangerment
- Criminal possession of a firearm
He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
